About Apéro
À presque tous les événements—rassemblements d’entreprise, mariages, foires communautaires—le café semblait être une pensée secondaire. Une station de goutte en libre-service dans un coin, oubliable et sans inspiration.
Nous croyions que le café méritait le même soin qu’un cocktail : préparé avec intention, équilibré avec précision, et mémorable bien après la fin de l’événement. Cette croyance est devenue le Café Apéro.
Ce qui avait commencé comme une expérience pratique — apprendre l’espresso, affiner la texture du lait et chercher un matcha vraiment bon — s’est rapidement transformé en une vision plus vaste : un bar à espresso entièrement mobile capable de servir des boissons de qualité café n’importe où.
Our first bar was custom-built from scratch by Kelsey’s father-in-law. Within 2 weeks, we were serving our first event—lines forming, drinks flowing, and guests finally excited about the coffee. The response was immediate, especially to our matcha, which many had never experienced done properly.
Depuis, Café Apéro a connu une croissance organique — servant des mariages à travers Montréal, collaborant avec des marques et se présentant dans des endroits inattendus avec toujours le même standard.
Today, we remain driven by one simple idea:
coffee should never be an afterthought.
About the founder: Kelsey
Hi, I’m Kelsey, founder of Café Apéro, professional overthinker, matcha lover, and the one probably moving a menu sign half an inch because it “looks better there.”
I’m very spontaneous, very into wellness, clean eating, home decor, and convincing myself that redesigning a room after seeing one Pinterest photo is completely reasonable. I love travelling, but definitely more in the backpacking, hostel, volcano-hiking, slightly-questionable-adventure kind of way. Give me an all-inclusive and I’ll somehow find a sketchy zipline excursion by day two.
On a day off, I’m probably trying a new recipe with a podcast on, drinking wine on a patio with the girls, or suggesting we do something unnecessarily fun like Laser Quest.
I’m also an extremely picky eater. I didn’t even like cheese until I was 22, which feels important to disclose.
And then there’s Café Apéro, which I genuinely never shut up about. My favourite part is that no two events ever feel the same. Every wedding, celebration, and corporate event has its own little world, and I love getting to step into it for a few hours. I also get way too much joy out of convincing people to try matcha for the first time, especially the men who are extremely suspicious of the green drink.
If we haven’t met yet, hopefully now it feels like we kind of have.
